CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON was born June 19, 1834, at Kelvedon, Essex, England. His parents were Congregationalists, his father
and grandfather both ministers. In his youth, Mr. Spurgeon was very early impressed with things divine, and after several
years under the weight of sin, Spurgeon was convicted and converted to Christ at the age of 15 while listening to an uneducated
Primitive Methodist layman, speaking to a small group, roughly comment upon Isaiah 45:22 — "Look unto me, and be ye
saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else."
